The only remaining historic movie theatre in Jacksonville, Il. Originally, the site of the Grand Opera House of 1892. The Illinois Theatre was built in 1938 by the Fox Theatres Corp after a fire destroyed the Opera House. The Theatre has undergone extensive renovations but retains its original historic character. Currently, it has 5 screens showing first run movies and is equipped with digital projection and sound. It is being managed by Great Dream Theatres and JAS Cinemas of Illinois and Indiana.
